Safe-T-Vue® is a nonreversible temperature indicator that changes color from white to red when the temperature for blood or other temperature sensitive products has been reached or exceeded. As long as the indicator remains white, the indicator temperature has not been reached or exceeded.
Designed to attach directly to the blood bag or product being transported or stored, Safe-T-Vue is currently available in three indication temperatures:
- Safe-T-Vue 6–for blood and other temperature-sensitive products that need to be stored below 6°C
- Safe-T-Vue 8–for temperature-sensitive products that need to be stored below 8°C
- Safe-T-Vue 10–for blood and other temperature-sensitive products requiring storage and safe transport below 10°C
Safe-T-Vue is ideally suited for use by blood banks and transfusion services to maintain quality control in transport and storage of blood and temperature-sensitive products.
Temperature, Not Time, is the Standard for Blood Management
S afe-T-Vue 6, 8, and 10 improves quality assurance in these ways:
- It specifically shows whether blood may be reissued when returned.*
- It promotes requirements of accountability during transport
Safe-T-Vue 6, 8, and 10 are packed in boxes of 50 and as cases of 200 (4 boxes of 50 indicators each). Each box is stamped with a lot number and expiration date. All shipments contain QA documentation and a validation procedure. Samples are available on request.

Using Safe-T-Vue 10 as an example...In just 10 seconds, blood bags or other products being monitored are ready for transport. The white center indicates a safe temperature below 10°C. If blood bags or other products being monitored are returned, and the Safe-T-Vue 10 center is still white, you can re-refrigerate with the indicator attached and later reissue.
